Friday Day 4

I have these pictures in just the opposite of order of when we seen them. I would get this blog out to you quicker, but this free wi-fi here takes a long time to download the pictures and some times cuts me off. I could write without pictures but I know, I like to read blogs better with seeing pictures.
This is a picture of the Texas Whitehouse od Lyndon B. Johnson that we toured. We also saw the school he attended, toured his boyhood home. He also had his own air field and hanger here. We took the bus all over the ranch and national historic park tour. The ranch was large and beautiful with animals such as steer and deer roaming all over the place.

I took this picture through a window where the jeep you see in this picture is also behind glass. The jeep is bright red. This is a famous picture of President Johnson and Lady Bird going to their home. He drives across the river instead of going about a mile further on his ranch and using the road. If you enlarge the picture by clicking on it, you may be able to read about it.

This is one of the cattle on the ranch that got out through the gate and decided to come up by my window.

He is where to stopped at the famous Dance Hall in Luckenbach, Texas where Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson got their start and changed the face of country music. Not much there during the week, but they said it would be rip roaring the Easter weekend. There was a small store and a bar with all the people who sang their on their wall. The buildings look like they were ready to fall down. In the back part, they had a lot of barrels filled with beer bottles getting started for the weekend.

You have your picture taking on this bull. No I did not get on it. It was a pretty long ways up there to be boosted. This couple in this picture are Ron and Kay Rivoli who did our entertainment for 2 nights and Easter Sunday worship service.

First thing that morning we went to Fredericksburg which is an old German town. However, I think Frankenmuth is just as good or better actually. There we were on our own to tour the National Museum of Pacific War which just opened in November last year. Inside it was also the George Bush Gallery. We had to leave a little earlier in the morning, so after looking in the museum a bit, we headed into town and had breakfast. Then, looked in shops. These ladies, and it looks like one man, were walking the streets on Good Friday, handing out Easter candy.

Here is a couple of lookers. That morning it rained a little bit, but it soon got hot again. After checking out the town, we headed back to the museum to see things we missed before.

Here is mom in her front seat of the bus. They are always kidding her that she will be driving the bus. She some times has to pass out things out or be charge of things. I think she is the hit of the rally actually. Below is the picture of our bus #1.

Yesterday, Carl felt the best he has in about 4 days yesterday. Otherwise, he also has been awfully tired. This afternoon, Tuesday-April 6, he laid down a bit before we go to the entertainment and has been coughing a lot. However, I don't hear it as much in his chest as a day ago.
